Social Changes: decline of feudalism
Humanism- focused on worldly subjects rather than religious ones.
People more curious about life in the present.
During the Dark Ages people focused on life after death!

Artists of the Italian Renaissance: example: Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Raphael, etc.
Literary Achievements of the Renaissance: Shakespeare, Machiavelli (The Prince), Dante, Cervantes.
Printing Press- leads to more books available, an increase in literacy, the rapid spread of ideas.
