The library program at Merrimac Elementary seeks to

• offer a library space that is well organized and filled with materials in varied formats that contribute to the educational and personal growth of our students and teachers
• enhance current and future learning by providing instruction which strengthens individual skills of library use and research
• promote safe and skilled use of the computer technologies available
• support the curriculum of the school and enrich the educational program
• reflect the diversity of our community
• foster an appreciation of literature and illustration
• encourage life-long library users
