Class overview- RLA
8th Grade Reading and Language Arts in Texas is designed to develop students' skills in reading, writing, speaking, listening, and critical thinking. Class overview- Digital Media
This 7th grade Digital Media course focuses on developing AI literacy and creative skills so students can thrive in an AI-driven world. AI education is now seen as essential for all K–12 students across subjects. Rather than banning AI, we will embrace AI as a tool – teaching students how to use it responsibly, with a human in the loop at all times. The mantra is “AI assists you, it doesn’t do the work for you.” Throughout the semester, students will engage in hands-on, student-centered projects using free AI-powered tools (Adobe Express Firefly, Canva, MagicSchool’s Magic Student, etc.), learning how AI can enhance creativity, research, and problem-solving. The curriculum is organized into three 6-week grading cycles, each with detailed weekly and daily plans. All activities are Chromebook-friendly and use free web-based programs. Web links and resources are provided for guidance. By the end of the semester, students will be familiar with a range of AI applications and understand how different careers and fields utilize AI, preparing them for future pathways.
WELCOME TO MY CLASS!
Dear Students and Parents,
Hello! My name is Ms. Davis, and I am thrilled to be your child’s Reading Language Arts or Digital Media teacher for the 2025–2026 school year. This will be my first year at Sabine Middle School, and I couldn’t be more excited to be back at Sabine ISD. I’m a proud graduate of Sabine High School and Stephen F. Austin State University, where I earned my bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies.
Outside the classroom, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, fishing, and staying active. I believe that student success grows from strong communication and collaboration between teachers, parents, and students. If you ever have questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me by email or through Remind.
