Greetings! My name is Emily Fry. I am new to Sabine ISD this year, but I'm very excited to be a Cardinal! Prior to being here, I taught 7th grade Reading Language Arts at Chapel Hill ISD. I look forward to calling Sabine ISD my home for many years to come!
I graduated from The University of Texas at Tyler in 2024 with a Bachelor of Arts in English and minor in Education. I have lived all over the East Texas area, including Gilmer, Lindale, Longview, and now Tyler. While Texas is my home now, I am originally from Winnsboro, Louisiana where I grew up until I moved in 2013. I am a loyal fan of LSU and the New Orleans Saints as I grew up cheering on both of those teams!
My passion for teaching comes from my love of books and what they've taught me over the years. I grew up reading all the time and I would like to share that love with students! I believe that knowledge is power and that any student is capable of great things; they just have to access the right knowledge to get there!
Prior to becoming an educator, I served in the United States Navy from 2016-2020. During my time, I was blessed to live in Japan for two years of my service and visited four countries - Australia, Hong Kong, South Korea, and Singapore. I finished my military service in San Diego, Ca, where I worked for helicopter pilots!
My time in the Navy inspired my love for the ocean. It taught me to take the stillness with the waves and learn from that. You can find lots of ocean/beachy things in my classroom!
In 2024, I married my best friend Brent and a year later had my daughter Juliana!
In my spare time, I love to spend time with family, especially my siblings and grandparents, crochet, read, watch movies with my husband, travel, horseback ride, and cook/bake!
