Year at a Glance (YAG)

Journalism Class: Students will learn about news writing, feature writing, editorial writing, headline writing, interviewing and copy editing. They will also spend time reading, watching and analyzing the news. They will contribute to the yearbook publication. 

Photojournalism Class: Students will learn about using the camera, composition of photos, how to take photos at events and using Photoshop for editing. They will contribute to the yearbook publication. 

Yearbook Class: Students will learn how to produce a publication, which includes writing, photography, designing, working with a team, peer editing and leadership. They will use Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Lightroom to help produce the yearbook. 

Animation Class: Students will learn how to produce animations including traditional animation and digital animation styles. They will use computer programs including Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere and Animate. 

Graphic Design: Students will learn how to make designs for businesses and publications using Canva,  Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. They will learn and apply design principles in their productions. 

Digital Media: Students will learn different skills needed in the digital media field including photography, graphic design, videography and audio production. They will use programs including Canva, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Premiere. 

Digital Design and Media Production: Students will gain a deeper understanding of the digital media field and produce photography, graphic designs, videos and sound for potential publication. They may contribute to the yearbook publication, social media or marketing. They will use programs including Canva, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Premiere.
