13:00-15:30
Main Objective:
By the end of this workshop, the participants will have a practical plan for “flipping” at least one unit (topic) within their class to accommodate an active learning activity in their class.
About:
You may have heard educators talking about “flipped” learning but what are they really? The main purpose of flipped learning is to make time for active learning and real-time guiding in-class, which transforms your class into a valuable collaborative learning space. What are the advantages and disadvantages of this teaching/learning approach? Is it worth flipping your class?
In this workshop, we will discuss these topics and each participant will create a plan to actually implement the approach into at least one of their lectures. The workshop will be suitable for all types of educators in any discipline regardless of their experience levels.
Note: Participation to the 1st workshop is recommended but not required to attend the 2nd workshop
Registration: To join the workshop, please register from this link (scroll to the right) by 5pm Sunday, Feb 11.
