The current standing will be updated periodically as we move throughout the season.
Games will both start at the same time using the shot clock to keep track of time.
There will be two courts playing at the same time. Which means, four teams/divisions will be playing in a lunch period.
Both games will have referees who have the final call in any decision.
There will be three, 5-minute, games per lunch period.
At the end of the 5 minutes, the team with the most points scored will get a point for a win.
In the case of a tie at the end of 5 minutes, both teams will get a point for the win.
1 point for a win per game. With a maximum of 3 points per lunch period.
1 point for meeting the team requirements.
1 bonus point for a team showing sportsmanship, team spirit, ect. (At the discretion of the adults and referees).
Actions that might cause a loss of sportsmanship/ spirit point include: not sitting on the bench in the correct order, arguing with a referee, inappropriate cheering, unkind comments toward other players on either team, etc.
Teams will play as many other teams as possible throughout the season round robin style. The top 4 teams at the end of the round robin with be placed into a final four bracket. The semi final, and final games, will be a best of 3 during a lunch period.
Need a minimum of 12 players to play and earn the point for showing up. If you are not able to meet these requirements, you can still play and get a sportsmanship point but forfeit all other points.
You can play with more than 12.
3 players will be on the court at a time. Every time a point is scored, the next 3 players rotate onto the court while the ones who just played quickly move to the back of the line on the bench
To not let the balloon hit the ground on your side of the court or hit it out of bounds on the opponents court.
The referee will facillitate a game of rock-paper-scissors (best of 1) to decide which team will serve first.
Serving must be done with one foot touching the service line.
All players not serving, must start outside of the nest. (please see line diagram)
The court will be the outside lines of the badminton court.
If the balloon lands outside of the lines it is out. If it lands on the line it is considered in.
Every time a point is score, for either team, the players on the court will sub off and the next three players will come on for the next serve.
When subbing off the court, you must move to the back of the line on the bench and make sure you are off of the court.
Think about your line ups ahead of time and come up with a strategy.
The team who scored the last point will serve.
If the balloon hits the ground on the opponents side.
If the other team touches the balloon more than 5 times before getting it over the net.
If a player on the other team touches the balloon twice in a row.
If a player on the other team touches the net at all. It is okay for the balloon to touch the net.
If a player of the other team is in the nest before a serve takes place.
Each team will get to play multiple games throughout the round robin.
The top 4 teams with the most points at the end of the round robin, will make the final bracket.
1st will play 4th & 2nd will play 3rd.
The winners of those two games will play in the final game.
