Support a Reader

This program pairs members with students to simply enjoy books and reading together.

Volunteers work throughout the school year, usually once a week for half an hour. 55+ Members read one to one with either one student for the full time or two students for 15 minutes each. Volunteers listen to them read, like a parent or grandparent would do, encouraging and supporting them and helping as needed. Books are provided by each classroom teacher that are specific to each child's abilities.

Volunteers come in to the school at a time that is convenient for them and fits within the timetable of the school day:

8:40 - 2:45 with lunch hour between 11:15 - 12:15
