Lights! Camera! Action!
Film and Television 9/10/11/12 will provide opportunities for students to develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes they need to create film and television works. History, culture, and value systems can influence film and television productions. Moving-image artists use technology in innovative and reflective ways. In this course, students gain practical experience in acting, script writing/directing, and production. This course introduces students to the standards of the film and television industry and is a good course to take if students are considering a career in this industry. As they explore and analyze the industry within various contexts, students will gain a better understanding of how film and television influence society and the multitude of opportunities for careers in this industry. Students can repeat this course if they feel they need to further develop their skills, but there are higher expectations for those returning to take this course again.
Grade 10 - This course is an elective credit only.
Grade 11 and 12 - This course satisfies the Arts Education Graduation requirement at the 11 and 12 level.
