What are the local or global issues that your project is trying to address?
Our group project is trying to solve the sustainable goal," Good health and well-being." We were inspired by the 5-second rule, which states that it's safe to eat fallen food on the ground as long as it is picked up within 5 seconds. Realizing that it was a widespread global belief, we were alarmed. Hence, with the mindset to determine whether people would be at risk of any illnesses if they followed the rule (reliability), we want to find out more about the factors related to the experiment. We hope to educate and share our findings with the public, raise awareness of the importance of hygiene and sanitation, and ensure people live healthier.
2. How have your team made progress in personal effectiveness during the course of this project?
Throughout the project, we were able to stay determined and to do the project although we faced many obstacles such as the limitations of equipment. We did our best to work around the limitations by finding an easier and simpler method that we could do. We were also able to manage our time well by planning our time and completing work before the deadline so we could let our teacher check the quality of the work.
3. How have your team made progress in inter-personal effectiveness during the course of this project?
We were able to work together as a team to carry out the experiment, data-collecting, and other parts of the project. We bonded over the weeks we were doing the project and cultivated a positive outlook on one another and acknowledged one another's’ expertise. This helped us to allocate specific tasks which suit our strengths so that we could work well as a team efficiently.
