Hello! My name is Jerry Wang and I am currently a senior at Rock Canyon High School within the AP Capstone Program. My general academic interests are science, specifically biology and chemistry, computer science, and mathematics. Last year (my junior year), I completed a group research project within Rock Canyon's Biotechnology program, where we analyzed the effects of paroxetine on MC3T3-E1 preosteoblast cells, where among other things, I was responsible for data analysis, statistical analysis, and statistical inference. Along with taking AP Statistics last year, this experience pushed me to want to research more about statistics as a field and how statistics can be used make inferences about the world. Combined with my passions in coding and biology and chemistry, these experiences pushed me to settle on my current research topic on quantifying errors in molecular dynamics.
I hope that pursuing this research will aid me with acquiring a more solid foundation in both statistics as well as biochemistry so I may further advance my research interests.
