About Me

Hi! My name is Elsa Swanson, and I am currently completing the AP Capstone program at Rock Canyon High School.

I have always been interested in the brain and everything that it controls. One this that has always entrapped my interests is the disease dementia.

Since experiencing it, I have realized my future will invlove neuroscience and attempting to help those that are affected.

This lead me to my research project, while I am unable to perform research involving the brain close up. I thought there is not better way to begin my research with dementia, than studying how it affects those around them.

Future Plans

Right now I am waiting on college decision to determine where I will further my academic career. Throughout the academics so far, I have discovered my passion for science and math. Knowing this I hope to pursue a major in biomedical engineering and double minor in business and neuroscience.

Activities

At RCHS, I am involved in many different clubs and organizations. I am an active member in National English Honors Society and Science National Honors Society. I also am very invloved in the Biotech Program and Club. Outside of school, I volunteer at Sky Ridge Medical Hospital. I also love running and spending time with my family and friends
