Hello! My name is Zoe Solano, and I am a senior at Rock Canyon High School. Next year, I plan to pursue education and psychology at a four-year university, with the goal of working as a child life specialist or as an elementary school teacher. Outside of school, I enjoy swimming, art, and music!

My interest in menstruation started when I first experienced my period. Looking back, I remember that social media influencers offered me comfort during this distressing experience. I remember watching female YouTubers casually talk about their periods, cracking jokes or explaining which products they liked the best. I thought to myself: if she can do it, so can I. 

My curiousity grew when I researched menstrual stigma in AP Seminar. This research boiled down to a single conclusion: menstrual education is needed to limit stigma. My research this year expands on this result.
