About

What's Archery Club?

Who:

Archery Club is for anyone who is looking into just shooting for fun or competing with us in the future. Whether you're completely new to Archery or an expert, all students in all grades are welcome to attend Archery Club!

Interested in joining? Check out the How To Join page for details.

What:

"Archery is the practice or skill of using a bow to shoot arrows. The word comes from the Latin arcus meaning ‘bow’ or ‘arch’" ("Archery").

When:

Archery Club meets every Monday from 3:00-4:00 pm

Where:

Outside of the Fire Science area, near the 4000s (some alternative practices at QuickDraw- see the bottom of the How To Join page)

Why:

The purpose of Archery Club is to help Rock Canyon students obtain an understanding of archery and to grow in their shooting skills. The club also aims to help students gain respect for the sport of Archery and above all, to have fun!

How:

Archery Club uses recurve bows and arrows for shooting. Unfortunately we do not use compound bows and are not allowed to for safety reasons at Rock Canyon. In addition to safety we use finger tabs, armguards, sights, single-space targets, and other gear (see the image below).
