Hi! My name is Kayleigh Anderson, and I am a current AP Research student at Rock Canyon High School!
Last year, I did research on the effects of Telaglenstat in E0771 cells, with a group of other amazing Rock Canyon Students. In this project, we were able to successfully slow the growth of the E0771 cells. I am so excited to have the amazing opportunity to work with E0771 cells again and continue the impactful research, while challenging myself to conduct this research independently! With my experience from last year, I have an understanding of cell culture that will help me immensely throughout this project. I love the never-ending questions of research and the ability to use scientific inquiry and testing to prove something, or to improve others' lives, and I am so excited for the results of this research!
Outside of school, I enjoy hanging out with friends, drawing, and crafting. I am also a lifeguard and swim instructor! I teach all ages from 6 months to 100 years old, but have a specialty in ages 3-7. I am a part of SNHS, HOSA, Med club, and am the president of Eco Club. I am extremely passionate about bettering the lives of others! I hope to continue a career in healthcare or research, and am currently in an EMT course! I can't wait to face all the ups and downs of this research and learn more about cell culture, lab procedures, and cancer.
