Hi, my name is Audrey Rea and I am a senior at Rock Canyon High School. Currently, I am working on completing my research project through my school's AP Capstone Diploma after successfully completing AP Seminar last year.
Outside of class, you’ll normally find me on the volleyball court somewhere, whether that be for school or club. I’m the social media manager of our school's news outlet, The Rock, and I am a part of National Honors Society, National English Honor Society, and Rho Kappa Honor Society. In my off-time, I love spending time with my friends and family, as well as travelling to all sorts of new places.
While I have never found myself to be musically inclined through the creation of music, I have found immense value in listening to a wide variety of styles throughout my life. Especially as I became more involved and passionate about my sport, I discovered that rap music really made me focus and begin feeling exhilarated for my favorite athletic activity.
When it came to rap specifically made by women, I found myself curious as to how it came to be so popular today, especially in the past few years with my generation. I had watched as both myself and my circle of friends included more and more rap songs by Flo Milli, Cardi B, and Nicki Minaj in different playlists and it's popularity grew. This drove my research to what it is today, and how I have become so passionate for the project!
