Pickleball is a paddle sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong. It is played indoors and outdoors on a badminton-sized court with a slightly modified net.

The History of Pickleball-
In the summer of 1965, Joel Pritchard returned to his home on Bainbridge Island with his friend Bill Bell to find their families lounging around the house without anything to do. They decide to make use of the old badminton court on the back of the property but are confused about what to do when they can't find a full set of rackets. After searching they found a set of ping pong paddles and an old plastic ball and began volleying the ball back and forth. Over the next few years, they altered the net, and court and adapted the raqutte and ball. Pickleball continued to flourish over the years and grew across the United States and Canada. Many people believe that the sport is named after the tasty fermented cucumber, but it's named after the founders dog "Pickle".
