Advanced CAD and 3D Printing

In Advanced CAD and 3D Printing, the students will start by reviewing everything they learned in Intro to CAD. Then, they will expand upon that knowledge and further their 3D modeling skills. They will learn various techniques that are used extensively in the industry as well as how these skills can be further expanded using a 3D printer.

The majority of the semester will be spent in Onshape. This is the computer-aided design (CAD) program, also known as 3D modeling software, we use to create the objects that are then 3D printed.

They will use these skills to solve problems and come up with prototypes to hypothetical scenarios, which is similar to what an engineer would do in the industry.
