龍馬学園　国際デザイン・ビューティカレッジで日本語を学ぶカナル・ケサブさん（25歳）､

日本で経営を学び、将来ネパールで起業する夢を持ち、2019年10月ネパールから留学｡

昨年末、胸に痛みを感じ、検査した結果、10万人に1人の希少がんだと判明しました。

is studying in Japan since October 2019, dreamed of starting a business in Nepal in the future.
At the end of last year, he felt pain in his chest and was examined and found to be one in 100,000 rare cancers.

ケサブさんはネパールの西部にあるカイラリ県出身の25歳の青年です。
ビジネスマンとして成功する野望を胸に、2019年の秋から日本に留学しました。
高知の龍馬学園で日本語を身につけ、今春からは千葉の専門学校へ進学する予定でした。

しかし昨年末、胸に痛みを覚え、病院で検査をしたところ、心臓に近いところに腫瘍が見つかりました。精密検査の結果、悪性の「縦隔腫瘍／胚細胞腫瘍」との診断を受けました。

すぐに治療しなければ数か月の命｡生き延びるためには、すぐに抗がん剤治療を開始し、手術しなければならない。仮に手術が成功したとしても5年後生存率は50％程度だという恐ろしい現実を突きつけられたのです。

Keshav is from the province of Kailali in western Nepal.
With the ambition to succeed as a businessman, he studies abroad in Japan since October 2019.
He learned Japanese at Ryoma Gakuen in Kochi and was planning to go to a vocational school in Chiba from this spring.
However, at the end of last year, he felt pain in his chest, and a tumor was found near the heart when he was examined at the hospital.
As a result of close examination, the 25 year-old man was diagnosed with malignant "mediastinal tumor / embryonic cell tumor".

The 25-year-old young man can live for only several months if not treated immediately.
To survive, anticancer drug treatment must be started immediately and surgery must be performed.
The young man was faced with the terrifying reality that the survival rate after 5 years is about 50% even if the surgery was successful. 

きわめて珍しいがんという診断とともに、医師からは帰国を勧められました｡でもケサブさんは、日本でがんと闘い､治療する道を選びました。

日本と比べ、医療水準の低いネパールに帰っても、治療するすべはありません。生き延びるためには、日本で闘病するしかない。彼の言葉を聞いて、私たちも彼とともに闘う覚悟を決めました。

今年1月5日、ケサブさんは高知赤十字病院に入院し、抗がん剤治療を開始しました。

最初の入院は2週間程度の予定で、その後経過観察、再度入院し投薬というサイクルになります。

腫瘍が小さくなれば、手術することができます。

With the diagnosis of a very rare mediastinal tumor, the doctor advised Keshav to return home but he chose to fight and treat cancer in Japan.

There is no way to cure it if he returns to Nepal, where medical standards are comparatively lower than in Japan. The only way to survive is to fight disease in Japan.
Hearing his words, we decided to fight with him together.

On January 5, 2020, Keshav was admitted to the Kochi Red Cross Hospital and started anticancer drug treatment.

The first hospitalization is scheduled for about 2 weeks, followed by a follow-up, hospitalization again, and a cycle of medication.

If the tumor becomes small, it can be operated on.

ケサブさんの故郷カイラリには、ご両親と弟、そしてケサブさんの帰りを待つ婚約者がいます。

ケサブさんの状況を知り、毎日泣いていたという家族の方たちも、日本で治療したいというケサブさんに同意し、遠く離れた場所で回復を祈っています。医療体制が日本ほど整っていないネパールに帰っても、治療することはできないため、生き延びるには日本で治療するしか方法がないからです。

私たち「がんばれケサブ応援団」は今、ご家族に代わってケサブさんを支えようとしています。
ご家族が日本に来て、闘病する彼を支えるのが一番です。
私たちの目標は、ケサブさんのご家族が来日し､彼と会えるようにすることです。

Keshav's parents, a younger brother, and a fiancée are waiting for Keshav's return in Kailali, Nepal.
They knew about Keshav's situation and cried every day and told Keshav to return home.
Finally they agreed with Keshav who wanted to be treated in Japan and prayed for recovery in the remote place.
He cannot be treated in Nepal, where the medical system is not as well established as in Japan, so the only way to survive is to be treated in Japan.

We are now trying to support Keshav on behalf of his family.
However, it is best for the family to come to Japan and support him as he fights cancer.
Our goal is to help Keshav's family to come to Japan and meet him.

ケサブさんに限ったことではありませんが、日本と比べてはるかに物価の安い国から来た留学生にとって、日本の医療費、生活費はとても高額です。
留学生の多くと同じく、ケサブさんも学校で勉強しながらアルバイトで生活費を工面していましたが、病気のため､当分働くこともできなくなりました。

ですが､高知には、彼を支えようと動いてくれている人たちがたくさんいます。
みんなの心が合わされば、彼一人の命を救うことは決して難しいことではないと信じています。

Although not limited to Keshav, medical expenses and living expenses in Japan are very high for international students from countries where prices are much cheaper than in Japan.
Like many international students, Keshav was working part-time while studying at school, but he was ill and can't work for the time being.

However, there are many people in Kochi who are working to support him.
We believe that it will not be too difficult to save his precious life if everyone's heart is united.
