Your Rights at Work

There are three different types of laws that deal with workplace rights:

⚠️ Labour standards (or employment standards) set out rules for minimum working conditions, such as pay, scheduling, sick days, time off, and more.

🦺 Health and safety regulations set out rights and responsibilities for staying safe at work. This includes being safe from violence, harassment and bullying.

⚖️ Human rights codes set out prohibited grounds for discrimination in workplaces, schools, and most other areas of public life.

The laws are slightly different for each province and territory in Canada.
