We will continue using Google Classroom to get the up-to-date information about before school rehearsals, sheet music and practice audio recordings.
MS Strings Overview
Review Scales: D, A, G, and C (Violas and Cellos)
Introduce Scales: F, Bb, d, e, and b
Extend scale octaves: 2+
String crossings, harmonic studies
Positions: 1/2 through 3rd
Perform staccato, Spiccato, and Martelé bowings
Continue rhythmic exercises: dotted notes and syncopation
Vibrato exercises
MS String Lessons
MS Strings Schedule
The strings rehearsal is usually held during period 1 or before school starts.
Specific days and room location will be given out once sign-ups have been completed.
String Instrumental Lessons
String Group Lessons are currently on pause.
The string lesson schedule is organized so that students will not miss a consecutive academic class per week.
Both the elective and core teachers will be notified about these strings classes. If a student has a quiz, test or is sick during the scheduled time, will be excused from the their lesson or the full group rehearsal.
Students should check in with their respective teacher before heading to the string room - B10b for their lesson. When checking-in students should hand in any homework and pick up any material from their teacher.
Students may leave their music instrument in our music storage room located next to room B15A prior to their first class.
Instruments will later be placed inside the classroom.
