Elle Barker, Grade 9

For this article, I am interviewing a freshman student athlete on the Rye Neck Varsity Lacrosse team, Gwen Blache. Gwen started playing lacrosse last year for the Rye Neck Modified Lacrosse team.

Question #1: Gwen, this has been your first season on the Rye Neck Varsity Lacrosse. How has your experience been so far?

G: It has been so much fun! Every player has been so welcoming and nice. Coach Regan, Coach D’Addona and Coach McLaughin have all helped me improve throughout this season. I’ve had a great season and I’ve learned so much.

Question #2: What has been a highlight of the season?

G: I’ve had a lot of fun at practices and getting to learn more about the game. This season had taught me a lot about both Lacrosse and the importance of hard work.

Question #3: What is your favorite aspect of the team?

G: My favorite aspect of the team is the players. Ever since the season started, the players have been welcoming and open to the new players. They have been so supportive all season. It’s been so great getting to know everyone and really feeling like part of a team.

Question #4: What was your favorite memory of this season?

My favorite memory was the Springfest game against Keio. It was a great game and I had a lot of fun playing attack.

Question #4: What are you looking forward to most next season?

G: I’m so excited to have a chance to play with this amazing team again and welcome new players. I can’t wait for next season!
