Midterm Resources & Information
Hints for the midterm:
MC: Use your Barrons or Princeton Review prep book to practice or ask to sit for an old test/ review an old test in B15 Or go through the other units posted on this web page. YOU CAN PICK UP ANY OF YOUR OLD FREE RESPONSE TESTS AND TAKE THEM HOME.
Free Response:
Make sure you can work with data in terms of linearizing a graph and know the basic relationship between kinematic graphs
Make sure you can break down forces into their components using rtz coordinates (circles) or x y coordinates- if you "see the motion" and the direction of acceleration, you will know how to align your axes
Need to be able to draw and analyze individual bodies as well as systems for Free Body Diagrams- so review sign conventions and acceleration constraints for Atwood Machines + slip and no slip problems with two or more blocks
Know and understand how to tell the difference between tangential and radial directions and write Fnet equations
Can do a horizontal circle in any form- amusement park ride, banked curve with or without friction, etc.
You will have to do calculus on multiple choice and at least one free response problem- could be an air resistance problem or some other non- constant force -review calc based problems
Review projectile motion, kinematic graphs, and basic definitions in linear and rotational form
