Each spring you have the chance to curate your timetable by selecting your courses for next year before the course selection deadline (the deadline will be announced each year by the school). Taking the initiative to meet this deadline ensures that you have control over your schedule, allowing you to tailor it to your interests and goals.
Students who do not complete their course selection by the deadline will be assigned courses by the school. The downside of this decision is that if you don't want what the school has chosen for you, the students who did select their own courses may have already filled some classes to maximum capacity, thereby resulting in fewer courses to choose from by the time course changes open in the fall.
The most empowering decision is to make your own course selections by the deadline, and we hope that the information below will allow you to create a personalized timetable that you feel excited about!
If you would like to change your timetable, first take a look at the annual timetable to decide how you would like to move your course(s). After you've explored that, you may e-mail your request to your school counsellor if it is a simple move, or book a "course change" appointment with her using her booking link to discuss your scenario.
While most students complete grades 10–12 in three years, some may choose to adjust their pace. If you need to extend your program beyond three years due to mental health or physical challenges, please reach out to your school counsellor to explore your options.
For those interested in completing high school in less than three years, this can also be achieved with careful planning. An example of an accelerated program is provided above, but keep in mind that plans can vary. Most accelerated pathways involve a combination of summer school, work experience, and additional courses.
Your school counsellor is here to help you design the program that works best for you, so reach out at any time to chat!
