Students who attend Summit Trails have a wide array of supports available to them, including school-based supports and divisional supports through RVS.

School-Based Supports

IN-CLASS SUPPORTS

• All synchronous and asynchronous teachers have office hours and specific time available to provide students in their classes with extra help on assignments and concepts being covered. One-on-one support is available for students with their classroom teachers when needed.  

• We have two Education Assistants (EAs) who enter some of the synchronous online classrooms to work in break-out rooms with students in oder to provide additional support under the direction of the teacher.

SPECIALIZED SUPPORTS

• Individualized Program Plans (IPPs), including individualized strategies, accommodations, and interventions for optimizing student learning for students who meet Alberta Education special education coding criteria.

• Under the direction of the learning support teacher, some students meet with our EAs or learning support teacher during the day for assistance with executive functioning skills and/or other outcomes from within a student's IPP. 

• Students can book learning support blocks when needed by using the student learning support booking link. This link can be used at any time and permission is not required ahead of time for students to use this link.
