Mycopolitan Mushroom Company has partnered with our Environmental Club and donating truckloads of single flush mushroom blocks to our school community. We grow these blocks out for a 2nd flush and are distributing these locally grown gourmet mushrooms to our community in return for donations to help us sustain our garden space. After we grow our mushrooms out, these blocks are composted and turned in to soil to add to our garden space and turned into new garden beds! Closing the loop on this waste stream!
A huge thanks to everyone who helped make this 2023-2024 mushroom growing season a success! We fine tuned our systems a bit and built partnerships with local restaraunts (Robin's Nest, & Vincentown Diner) as well as a local produce farmer (Pinelands Produce, Diane Gabler) to distribute these mushrooms. We grew more than 700 POUNDS of mushrooms this year!!!! Let's see what next year brings! Happy foraging through the summer and early fall!
