The RV Sports Medicine Club is designed to create an environment where students can observe and experience the field of Sports Medicine. Student aides will gain knowledge of anatomy and physiology, relate injuries to the demand of sport, assist with immediate care of injuries once proper skills are obtained, as well as observe and understand rehabilitation techniques while assisting athletes in basic rehabilitation exercises. Students will also assist with the application of therapeutic modalities, after an understanding knowledge of each method. Finally, athletic training student aides will be expected to assist with general athletic training procedures during games and practices. The goal of this program is to prepare our student aides for future education and professional responsibility. Please see the link below for a more detailed explanation of what is expected of Student Athletic Training Aides in the student handbook.
