Students will learn and practice new "red words" or high frequency words each week. These are words third graders will see frequently in text and will use often in their writing. Generally, they are words that do not follow spelling patterns. Therefore, when learning and practicing red words, students will be required to both read the words and write them accurately from memory. Red word dictation assessments will take place each Friday.
