Make sure the subject of your shot is well lit -make sure the natural light is in front of them (don't sit in front of a window)

Make sure your background is tidy and doesn't distract the audience from the interviewee.

Use a technique to stabilize your shot.
If your footage is shaky it will distract your audience.
Sound

Make sure you get good quality sound -you may need to use an external microphone.

Make sure you are filming landscape. All professional film is done in landscape -not portrait.
