STUDENT PORTAL

RSM has a lot of helpful tools to help you stay organized and get the most out of our program!

For students in Grades 3 and up we have a Student Portal where they will have access to their Homework and can check their answers and make corrections before class, extra practice problems if they are struggling with a concept, and printable Chapter Reference with the theory and examples related to the question and what was covered in class.

WHAT IS NEW IN THE STUDENT PORTAL?

Prerequisite Skills Practice

New Student Portal feature we are calling Prerequisite Skills Practice (PSP). Allow new students joining Accelerated Pre-Algebra (6_1) and Algebra I (7_1) classes to work on any missing prerequisite skills over the summer (or in the first few months of class if they join after September). Students who are new to RSM and enrolled in 6_1 or 7_1 will also be introduced to the PSP system and asked to take an assessment test.

Upon completion of the assessment, parents will receive the Prerequisite Assessment Report via email. This report will be broken down into topics (see below), allowing both students and parents to quickly identify areas of strength and potential improvement. Based on the student's performance in the Prerequisite Assessment, they will receive their Personalized Practice recommendation. These recommendations will be accessible via the 'Practice' tab in the Student Portal. Each student's Personalized Practice will be facilitated on IXL, a third-party platform, where the recommended practices directly correspond to the topics identified for improvement during the assessment. IXL platform will be autonomous, with our system not receiving any updates or reports from IXL regarding the student's progress. Thus, students will be engaging in self-guided learning on this platform.

Here is the GOOGLE FORM that parents need to fill out in order to get access to the IXL platform if they don't already have it.

The plan is for this feature to go live on or soon after July 5th. The exact date to be finalized by our development team is July 3rd.

Quests

Show your extraordinary math prowess and reap the reward by completing Formidable Quests. Each Quest poses extra challenging problems that have Olympiad-level difficulty. You can earn a Bronze Key badge for completing 2 quest problems, a Silver Key badge for 3 problems and, if you solve all quest problems, you get a Gold Key badge.

Games

Now your child can play a fun math game as a break from homework or as extra practice! You can find Games after the Formatting Help section. Games are Available for students in Grades 2 to 5.

Log in to your Child’s Students portal and request to set up an IXL account to get access to this amazing feature.
