PTA Board

Call for nominations for positions in the following school year begins in March.  Board elections are held in April. 

In California, any PTA member who has been in good standing for at least 30 days prior to the nomination can run for an elected position. Students, parents, guardians, teachers, and community members are all eligible. Certain term limits and restrictions apply:

• Membership Requirement: You must have a current, paid PTA membership at the specific school's unit.

• One Office Limit: You cannot hold more than one elected or appointed position on the board at the same time.

• Term Limits: You cannot serve in the same PTA office for more than two consecutive one-year terms.

• Nomination Process: You can be nominated by the PTA Nominating Committee or nominated "from the floor" during the election meeting.
