What exactly is innovation?

Scott Berkun thinks “Innovation is significant positive change.”

Tim Kastelle writes innovation is “not just having an idea—but executing it so that it creates value.”

Here’s how [Digital Intent] define[s] innovation:

“Innovation is the process of creating value by applying novel solutions to meaningful problems.”

Hour of Innovation Challenge

What is your challenge? Solve a problem in the community

Why should you participate? These problems plague Riverside, as well as other communities around the world. Let's work together to solve them and create a better life for all humans, plants, and animals.

Where do you work on your solution? You can work in class if your teacher allows or at outside of school with family and/or friends.

When do you work on your solution? You can work in class if your teacher allows or outside of school with family and/or friends. Teams should meet regularly to work on and refine their solution, and meet with their mentor regularly to get feedback.

How do you submit your solution? You go to the last page on this website and submit your slides/video/document.
