Welcome to another exciting year! I am very excited to work with you this year as we take the information you learned last year in Math 1 and springboard that forward into bigger and better things. A word of caution: this class is not for the faint of heart. I will challenge you regularly and make you think in ways that you never thought you could before. But I make you this promise: If you work hard for me, give me a full faith effort, I will do the exact same thing for you. My classroom reflects more than just math...it reflects life. We are all going to give our absolute best inside of these walls and, together, there isn't anything that we all can't achieve. I'm genuinely looking forward to what's to come.

While Google Classroom is the main way that assignments will be disseminated and turned in, much of the communication that I will send my classes will be through the ParentSquare platform. Though not "required" (because you can always keep up with said communication over email), I strongly encourage all of you to download the app to your respective mobile device and enable push notifications. I promise not to spam your phone (I know how important it is knowing your bestie left you a comment on your IG story...).

The syllabus for our class can be found at right. This syllabus incorporates ALL of the MLKHS AND MLKHS Math 2 policies along with specific classroom expectations and rules for Mr. Arellano's room.
Instead of your traditional 0 - 100 scale, grades are given a grade of 0 - 4 with a 4 demonstrating compete understanding and 0 being little-to-no attempt to master the topic at all. If you're trying to interpret your grade based on your score in Aeries, it's best to think of your grade as a GPA 4.0 - 0.0. The grading scale is as follows:
A: 4.00 - 3.30
B: 3.29 - 2.70
C: 2.69 - 2.00
D: 1.99 - 1.30
F: 1.29 - 0.00
