Your potential new employer cannot get a hold of you in order to offer you that job. So you are passed over for the job and it's offered to someone else. Having a functioning phone number is VITAL! Make sure that you valid phone is on your resume and application(s)
  • Working Voicemail: Great, you have a working phone number! But what happens if the perspective employer calls and you are in class. They aren't able to leave a message because your voicemail isn't set up. Because they can't leave a message, they cannot tell you that they are interested in you. So they move on to the next candidate - just because you didn't have your voicemail set up. This is just as important as having a phone number!
