INFRASTRUCTURE
The Department of Zoology is equipped with separate, well-designed laboratories for undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) students, ensuring an effective and discipline-specific learning environment. The laboratories are supported with common instruments and apparatus strategically placed in the respective labs for easy accessibility during practical sessions and research activities.
Each laboratory is enabled with ICT-based teaching facilities, including projector screens that support interactive and technology-driven pedagogy. Specialized instruments such as micropipettes, occulometers, salinometers, and other advanced laboratory equipment are regularly utilized for practical training, student research projects, and dissertation work at both UG and PG levels.
The UG laboratory houses three desktop computers dedicated to biostatistics and bioinformatics practicals. These systems are also extensively used by PG students for research analysis, project work, seminar preparation, and academic presentations.
A unique feature of the department is its well-maintained museum of preserved zoological specimens. The specimens are systematically barcoded, allowing students to access specimen-related information instantly through mobile-based barcode scanning applications. This innovative approach promotes self-learning, enhances curiosity, and encourages inquisitive exploration among students.
