Minh studied Chemistry at the Humboldt Universität zu Berlin (Germany) before obtaining his PhD at the FMP Berlin (Leibniz-Forschungsinstitut für Molekulare Pharmakolgie) in 2023. His PhD research focused on elucidating the mammalian metabolic pathways of inositol polyphosphates through NMR-based metabolomics and enzymology. Afterwards, Minh joined the Roelfes group in an effort to gain a deeper understanding of the inner workings of (designer) enzymes. Here, he is using directed evolution via error-prone PCR to explore long and short distance interactions of LmrR-based designer enzymes, and subsequently applying these to improve their performance. In his free time Minh is either moving through 3D space by running and bouldering or sitting down for a board game, music and good food.
