Isabella obtained her BSc degree in Chemistry from the University of Groningen in 2022, where she subsequently continued her studies and completed her MSc degree in Chemistry in 2025 under the supervision of Prof. Gerard Roelfes. During her MSc, she worked on enzymatic benzophenone photoredox catalysis, combining biocatalysis and photochemistry to develop selective catalytic transformations. In August 2026, Isabella joined the Roelfes group as a PhD student, where her research focuses on the development of boron-based designer enzymes for novel catalytic transformations.
