Nuclear Chemistry group

Welcome to our Group Homepage

Our research interest are atomic nuclei for away from the valley of stability. Exotic nuclides are unique tools to learn about extreme aspects of nuclear structure as well as the strong and the weak force. They provide crucial input data for nuclear astrophysics processes. We are curious how chemical elements have been formed in our universe and we want to know which is the heaviest element that can exist.

Therefore, we develop experimental techniques to produce and separate short-lived isotopes, as well as to measure properties such as nuclear masses. In our work we combine techniques from nuclear physics, atomic physics, and chemistry.
