CREA 2026 will take place in London, UK, at the Royal Festival Hall, Southbank Centre, co-hosted by Goldsmiths, University of London and the Hayward Gallery. This year’s workshop, themed Critical Challenges, Creative Futures, will bring together artists, curators, educators, engagement professionals, and psychologists to explore the pressing issues facing museums today and to co-imagine the future of museum experience.
The day will move from collective reflection on contemporary sector challenges to a shared gallery experience and interactive, future-focused activities that reimagine what a meaningful museum visit might look like in 2030 — and how psychological research and creative practice can help us get there. Through roundtable discussions and hands-on sessions moderated by experts in empirical aesthetics and museum studies, participants will exchange perspectives, experiment with new approaches, and build meaningful cross-sector connections.
