Our Story
R12 is a Christian 501c3 non-profit organization based in Southern California. Members of R12 are parents with high school age students who participate together in a 4-year program of community service, spiritual growth and leadership development. Chapters are comprised of fathers/sons and mothers/daughters with students in grades 9-12. The father/son and the mother/daughter chapters operate independently though may serve together on various projects.
Each chapter holds monthly meetings where parents and students attend together to learn from meaningful Christian speakers and grade level mentors. The parent and student members each hold various leadership positions within the chapter and volunteer for service projects throughout the year. Over the four-year program, the members serve in a multitude of ways and with a variety of organizations in the community. R12 is a certified organization for the President’s Volunteer Service Award.
RTWELVE History
2010: MOTHERS & DAUGHTERS
In 2010, five women answered God’s call to start a Christian mother/daughter service organization that focused on building relationships, developing leadership skills, growing together spiritually and serving as the hands and feet of Christ. With the intent to form a faith based organization, this group of women founded Young Women of Vision (“YWOV”). Originally under the umbrella of the international, humanitarian relief organization World Vision, YWOV was also closely associated with both Women of Vision National and its Orange County Chapter.
2015: FATHERS & SONS
With the success of the YWOV program, 3 couples recognized there was both a desire and a need for fathers and sons to have a similar experience. In 2015, the organization expanded to include the father/son equivalent, Young Men of Vision (YMOV).
2017: A GOD-SIZED OPPORTUNITY
In 2017 a foundational grant was awarded that provided funding for the Young Men and Women of Vision to expand beyond its foundational chapters in Newport Beach. Following a major renaming & rebranding campaign, R12 became a national non-profit organization. The name R12 is reflective of our Romans 12 curriculum that teaches topics such as: identity in Christ, non-conformity, heart transformation, love, reputation, and service.
2019 - Present: GROWTH OF A MISSION
R12 is on a mission to mobilize Christian parents and students and provide the R12 experience to as many communities as possible across California and the United States.

Mission Statement
Guided by Romans 12, RTwelve is a Christian service organization committed to helping high school students develop their relationship with Christ while strengthening the father/son and mother/daughter bond.
Community Service
RTwelve partners with organizations in the community to serve and provide hands on relational volunteer experiences. Some examples of where we serve include:
Domestic abuse shelters
After school neighborhood learning centers programs
Programs for pregnant and parenting teens
Homes for formerly incarcerated women and their children
Food pantries
Home building and neighborhood restoration projects
Elderly programs
Foster care family agencies
Spiritual Growth
Monthly meetings provide intentional, structured time together in order to foster deep conversation, connection, accountability and fellowship with like-minded parents, students and mentors. Members learn from Christian speakers who teach on topics from Romans 12 scripture such as:
Non-conformity
Heart transformation
Identity in Christ
Love
Reputation
Service
A consistent focus on these important topics helps our members navigate the challenging years of high school. With the goal of transformed hearts and minds (Rom. 12:2), members will be equipped to walk confidently in their faith and make a lasting impact for Christ.
Leadership Development
RTwelve chapters provide leadership opportunities within each grade level. Students plan and facilitate meetings and events which develop leadership and problem-solving skills, as well as organizational and communication skills. Parents also take on various leadership roles within the chapter.
A Lasting Impact
The transitional and fast-paced nature of high school poses a challenge to having meaningful time for our most important relationships. RTwelve provides the platform for fathers/sons and mothers/daughters to connect in ways that will have a lasting impact on their personal growth and on the community that they serve.
