Frequently Asked Questions

Why can't I click on the links or play the videos when I am in google slides?

Make sure you are in present mode whenever you are trying to click links or watch videos. You should only be on "edit" mode when you are finished with the lesson and completing the exit slip.

iPad users: Make sure that you are opening the classroom in SLIDES by clicking on the button in the top right corner. It looks like a square with a diagonally pointing arrow. That way you can switch between present mode and edit mode.

Where can I find my child's assignments? They aren't on the website anymore!

Grades 3-4 can find their assignments in google classroom. Grades K-2 and 5 can find all their assignments in their music class on seesaw.

What are office hours?

Office hours are scheduled each day for anyone to pop into without an appointment and students do not need to stay for the whole half hour. They can ask their question and leave or stay and have Ms. El help them through the whole lesson.

I can't make the office hours but I need help. What can I do?

No problem! Just click here to set up a different time within the school day to get some help for your student. Select a day and time that fits in your schedule. Because music is fully remote, there is more flexibility in the schedule to meet with parents on a case by case basis if that is necessary and helpful.

How do I record using my chromebook?

This website offers step by step directions that have proven very helpful! Just follow each step in the sequence and you should have a final video in your downloads folder.

Now I've recorded my video, how do I upload it to google classroom?

In the google classroom assignment there should be an "add" drop down menu where you can select "video" Choose the "upload" tab and you'll find your video in the downloads folder. You can also click on the paperclip icon to add video as well.

I have a question that I don't see here. How do I reach you?

If you didn't find the answers you needed here, send an email to me at belwell@rsu87.org or click here to set up a google meet with me.
