This site offers students and their adults at home a space to see what your child's school year will look like and find important and relevant information.
Our intent is to update the site regularly with helpful information. Please let us know if there are things that you would like us to add to the site to make it more useful!
The 8th grade team looks forward to a fun and engaging school year!
The first two days of our 2024-2025 school year were off to a great start!
Our 8th graders spent the days with their advisories building relationships between their peers and our staff! They participated in various challenges and games within their advisories or with the 8th grade as a whole.
We got some great photos of students participating in a "get through the hula hoop" challenge where they competed in teams of 2 or 3 advisories against the other groups of advisories!
Moore and Fairbrother won the first round! L Blood, R Blood, and Maheu managed to gain speed in a rematch round, but Drury and Hutt won!
We can't wait to continue to see them tackle challenges with one another and support each other's victories throughout the rest of the school year!
Cell phones are a useful tool for communication, when used well. In school they can be a constant distraction to learning and to building effective interpersonal relationships. They can also lead to pictures, videos, and postings without permission and cyberbullying. Therefore, cell phones and other personal electronics–including wireless Bluetooth headphones–may NOT be used and will be powered down between 7:35 A.M. and 2:10 P.M. Smartwatches may be used ONLY for keeping track of time.
Students may use personal electronics before 7:35 as long as they are used appropriately.
Students should not take photos, videos, or post on social media sites while at school.
Students will power down phones at 7:35 and place them in secure boxes located in each classroom.
If a student arrives late to school, their phone will be collected and stored in a lock box inside the main office for the day.
Students may NOT keep their phones in their lockers, in their backpacks, or on their person.
Students may use the classroom phone to contact their families with permission if there is an emergency or serious, specific reason to make a phone call.
If families need to communicate with their child during the school day, they may call the office or email the office at THMSoffice@rsu71.org We will make sure the student receives the message.
Phones will be returned to students at 2:10 P.M.
