On July 1, 2021, Governor Janet Mills signed School Meals for All into law, ensuring Maine students will be among the first in the nation to have equal access to school meals! 

BREAKFAST AND LUNCH ARE FREE FOR ALL STUDENTS FOR THE ENTIRE 2023/2024 SCHOOL YEAR!! 

Every student that is enrolled in the RSU #57 School District will automatically be set up for a meal account. Students will enter their individual pin number for any purchases made during meal times. If you need assistance with a student pin number please visit the Contact Us page.

All meal accounts are to be used as a debit account, so please maintain a positive or zero balance. In order to make it convenient for parents and students, all of our cafeterias accept the following payment methods:

CASH:   Cash may be given to the cashier daily for purchases. Cash may also be used to deposit prepayments onto a student’s meal account. For students in grades Prek-8 please place cash in an envelope marked clearly with your student's name, teacher's name and the $ amount. Turn in prepaid deposits to the cafeteria cashier(s) or classroom teacher.

CHECKS:   The cafeteria accepts checks made payable to “RSU 57 School Nutrition.”  Checks may be used for daily purchases or prepayments onto a student’s meal account. There is a $5.00 fee for each returned check.  For grades Prek-8 please place checks in an envelope marked clearly with your student's name, ID #, teacher's name and the $ amount. Turn in prepaid deposits to the cafeteria cashier(s) or classroom teacher. 

ONLINE PAYMENTS:   Online payments are a simple, safe and secure way to make payments to your student's account, 24 hours a day, at your convenience! Please visit www.myschoolbucks.com This service also provides parents the ability to track spending, set balance reminders and setting up automatic payments. Mobile apps are also available for IOS and Android. To sign up for online meal account access. Parents/guardians must create an account, then add the student(s) by entering their district identification number (different then their PIN number). Please contact the School Nutrition Office if you need help with your account. 

All student balances automatically roll over to the next school year, new grade, new school, as long as your child remains in the RSU 57 School District.  If relocating or graduating from our district, please click the REFUND/TRANSFER FORM to have your student’s balance refunded or transferred to a siblings account. 

If you are requesting a refund/transfer, please remove any AUTO PAY option you may have set up while using myschoolbucks.com, to avoid any further charges to your credit/debit card.  Refunds are processed in the form of a check and typically take 3 to 5 weeks to process and arrive in the mail (additional time may be required due to volume at the beginning and end of each school year).

Why do adults pay more?

School Nutrition Programs receive funds for meals served at school to all students. Adult meals are not funded by USDA and federal law require adults to pay what it costs School Nutrition Programs to produce a meal.It is our responsibility to earn revenues to cover our department's salaries and benefits, food, supplies, and equipment.Meals bought at school are worthwhile in these ways:*Meals meet recommendations of Dietary Guidelines for Americans*They are safe and handled by food service professionals trained in sanitation and food safety*Standard portions are served - it's easy to count calories, points, carbs, etc.*They are economical
