Welcome to the MLS Music website!  My name is Katie McFarland, but most students call me Mrs. Mac.  I have a Bachelor's degree in Music Education from the University of Maine and a Master's degree in Music Education from Adams State University.  I am certified in the Orff Schulwerk, First Steps in Music and Conversational Solfege.

My little family is very musical.  My husband, Duncan is a pianist.  We spend a lot of time singing, dancing and playing instruments with our 1.5 year old son, Ira.

My favorite part about being a music teacher is encouraging other people to feel capable and excited to make music.  It is a unique part of what makes us human!
