Our Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) program is designed to prepare students for certification in the State of Maine. This comprehensive program includes:

• 70 hours of classroom instruction: Covering essential healthcare knowledge and skills.

• 20 hours of lab practice: Hands-on training in a controlled environment.

• 40 hours of clinical experience: Real-world application under professional supervision.

Students who successfully complete the program will be eligible to take the State of Maine CNA competency test and will receive assistance with filing the necessary forms to be placed on the State of Maine CNA registry.

Additionally, optional Personal Support Specialist (PSS) training is available for students who request it, allowing them to further enhance their skills and expand their career opportunities in healthcare.

Our CNA program is designed to meet the needs of students who aspire to work in healthcare facilities or residential home care, contributing to the growing demand for skilled professionals in this field.

The CNA Med "Pharmacology" - Medication Technician program is designed to provide Certified Nurse Assistants with advanced training in medication management. This 120-hour course includes:

• 60 hours of classroom instruction: Covering medication administration, drug interactions, side effects, and record-keeping under nursing supervision.

• 20 hours of lab practice: Hands-on experience in administering medications and managing related procedures.

• 40 hours of clinical training: Real-world application in healthcare settings to ensure competency in pharmacology practices.

Eligibility Requirements:

• At least one year of full-time employment as a CNA.

• Current good standing on the Maine State CNA Registry.

Students must have access to a nursing drug reference book, typically available through their employer or healthcare facility. This program equips students with the skills needed to enhance their professional responsibilities and meet the growing demand for medication technicians in the healthcare industry.

Demand for medical assistants will grow 23 percent through 2024, so there’s never been a better time to explore a career in healthcare! This online course will give you an overview of the job duties and scope of practice of clinical medical assistants. You will learn about the different types of medical records and how to enhance the overall patient experience. You will also get an introduction to charting patient complaints, creating progress notes, and collecting medical history. 

This program will guide you through the steps to building your own business. You’ll explore the different options for creating your business and learn how to develop a successful business plan that reflects your vision and allows you to compete in your target market. You’ll gain information about financing your business, and see how to create an effective marketing strategy to help ensure your success. 

In this course, you will master the basics of scheduling patients’ appointments, surgeries, and hospital admissions. In addition, you will discover how to create, maintain, and file medical charts. You will also find out how to verify patients’ insurance, create encounter forms (charge tickets), post charges, obtain pre-authorizations from insurers, and schedule return visits.

After that, go behind the scenes as you learn how to apply diagnostic and procedure codes to patients’ accounts and bill their insurance companies. Next, explore additional accounts receivable tasks including posting payments and adjustments, billing secondary insurance, and following up on unpaid insurance claims. You will also learn what a day sheet is, why it’s important, and how to keep track of all your patient accounts on a daily, monthly, and yearly basis.

Prepare for a rewarding career as a valued member of the physical therapy team while learning all about the human body, specific disorders, and the way physical therapists treat these disorders. You will explore the history of physical therapy and the relationships between physical therapists, physical therapist assistants, and physical therapy aides. You will learn how to communicate effectively with other health care professionals and patients. You’ll also come to understand the medical documentation that physical therapists use and principles of ethics and law that affect the PT aide.
