Extended Learning Opportunities
Marshwood High School
“Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn.” — Benjamin Franklin
What is an Extended Learning Opportunity?
Extended Learning Opportunities are learning experiences that happen outside of the traditional classroom, often in a community based setting. ELOs can be credit-bearing or enrichment opportunities that provide a meaningful, relevant experience by meeting the student’s individual learning style, talents, and interests. MHS has many types of ELOs. This website is designed to provide students, teachers, parents and community partners with more information about the MHS ELO program.
Jobs For Maine Graduates
We are extremely grateful for our partnership with Jobs for Maine Graduates (JMG), a tireless ELO advocate, relentless ELO supporter and extensive ELO resource.
JMG was established by the Maine State Legislature in 1993 and is the largest statewide education nonprofit in Maine. JMG partners with Maine's public middle and high schools, community colleges, and our university system to help students achieve their goals.
