May - June 2023
May - June 2023
Sullivan, ME 04664
As spring invites us with warmer weather and morning dew, our air pressure drops tremendously, paving the way for rainstorms and many days of altostratus clouds!
In May, our daily high temperatures are averaging 38-45°F, with a daily low average of 39°F.
Moving into June, our temperatures are going to increase by approximately 8°F, and have a potential high average of 55°F whereas towards the end of the month of June it will increase to around 60-65°F.
You may notice that the typical meteograph isn't available. This is because Maine is having an irregular climate climb this year, causing graphs to be inaccurate.
One billion tons of water falls every minute!
This is because clouds are like wells, they hold water, and also redistribute it! Tropical regions are the main areas that produce the most water. Tropical regions are highly affected by the sun, and has a lot of oceans, leading to the production of precipitation.
Monthly Weather Instrument - The Anemometer
The anemometer is a weather instrument used to determine wind speed and wind pressure! They are commonly used by meteorologists but also physicists, who study the physics behind air moving!
