COMMON FIXES FOR MAC
COMMON FIXES FOR MAC
1. Shut it down, count to 10, power back up. Sometimes your laptop just needs a quick restart, even if no update is needed. If your internet is not working or a printer is not connecting properly, a restart most likely will fix this problem.
2. Are you on the correct network? Sporadically you may be bumped from the RSU14Wireless network and put on Guest. Printers do not work on this network and some other apps may be glitchy as well. If you cannot connect to the RSU14 Network, do a quick restart of your Mac.
3. Close some tabs and check background apps. A slower computer may mean that you have too many things running in the background. If you are questioning what may be slowing down your computer check the Activity Monitor.
4. Cookies. No not the yummy chocolate chip cookies. Many websites require cookies in order to have full functionality or provide a good experience on their site. Sometimes, you may need to clear cookies to clear information that may be stored for a certain site. Watch this video for a quick tutorial.
5. Chrome Updates. If you see in the top right of Chrome "Updates" click this icon to update Chrome. It will restart your browser but will open all your tabs again. This can help your browser run faster.
6. Enable pop-ups. A website may use a pop-up window for log-ins for accounts or video/audio recording. If you block the pop-up, you won't be able to use all the functions.
