Hi, my name is Roisin Strickland, and I am the general music teacher and chorus director at Manchester Elementary School in RSU14. I currently teach 4th and 5th grade, but I've had the joy of working with students from Prek through 12th grade. This is my third year of professional teaching, and I love helping young musicians grow in creativity, confidence, and a lifelong love of music.

I earned my Bachelor of Music in Music Education with a concentration in Jazz Studies from the University of Southern Maine, and I am now pursuing my Master of Music Education at the University of Florida. My academic and teaching interests include creative listening, student-centered composition, and technology integration, all of which guide the way I design experiences for my students. 

In the summer of 2025, I had the incredible opportunity to intern at the Kenyan Music Festival, where I observed rehearsals in Nairobi public schools and learned from diverse approaches to music education. The experience continues to inspire me to bring multicultural perspective into my classroom.

I am an active member of the National Association for Music Education (NAfME), the Maine Music Educators Association (MMEA), and the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA).
