Ms. Gleason

Hello! This is my 20th year teaching. I taught high school English for 10 of those years, and have been at the middle school teaching English Language Arts for the last 10. I love middle school!

I am a graduate of the University of Maine at Farmington. In addition to teaching, I have worked as a waitress, cashier, elder-care provider, tutor, and Customer Service Representative. In fact, I still wear some of these hats in the summer.

I love golfing, reading, gardening, and hanging out with my dog. I spend as much of the summer as I can at a family camp in Southern Aroostook County. There I am able to golf several times a week and devote lots of energy to a recent passion, sewing.

My toy poodle, Sydney, is named for one of my favorite characters in literature, Sydney Carton from A Tale of Two Cities [by Charles Dickens). I hope you will have the opportunity to read this in high school. If I could only have one book on a deserted island, it would be A Tale of Two Cities.

I am looking forward to this school year. I know we will face many unusual challenges, but we will do it together!
